Terms of use

Keyshand is free, and these are the terms it is offered under. They are short because the service is simple: you practise typing, we keep your progress, and either of us can walk away.

What this is

Keyshand is a typing trainer at keyhand.vercel.app, operated by the person you can reach at keyshandtyping@gmail.com. Using it means these terms apply to you. If you do not agree with them, the honest answer is not to use it — nothing here is negotiable at the scale of one user.

It costs nothing

Every feature is free. There is no subscription, no trial that turns into a bill, and no card details taken. If that ever changes, it will be announced and it will not apply retroactively to anything you have already done.

Your account

  • An account is yours and is meant for one person. Do not share the password.
  • Use an email address you actually control — it is how the account is recovered.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account while you are signed in on a device.
  • Tell us if you think somebody else is in it, and sign out from the account page to end every other session.

What not to do with it

Short list, and none of it should be surprising:

  • Do not attack the service — no scraping at volume, no attempting to break authentication, no probing for holes in somebody else's account.
  • Do not automate practice to fake results. It hurts nobody but you, and the statistics stop meaning anything.
  • Do not paste custom practice text you have no right to use, and nothing unlawful.
  • Do not use the service to break the law where you are.

Your text stays yours

Any custom practice text you write or paste remains yours. We store it only to give it back to you on your other devices, and we do not use it to train anything or show it to anybody else. Deleting it, or your account, removes it.

What the numbers are worth

Words per minute, accuracy and any certificate produced here are a measurement taken by a website in your browser. They are honest, and they are not a qualification. Nothing stops somebody sitting a test on a keyboard that is not theirs, so treat a Keyshand result as evidence of practice rather than as proof of ability to anybody who is relying on it.

What we do not promise

Keyshand is provided as it is. It is a free service run by one person: it may be unavailable, it may lose a run, it may change, and it may one day stop. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that follow from using it.

What we will do is keep it honest — your data is exportable and deletable at any moment from the account page, so nothing here holds you hostage.

Ending it

You can delete your account whenever you like, without asking and without explaining. It takes your history with it, immediately.

We may suspend or remove an account that is attacking the service or breaking the law. It is not a lever we expect to touch, and it is not one we would pull over somebody typing badly.

Changes to these terms

They may change as the service does, and the date at the top will say when. Continuing to use Keyshand after a change means the new version applies. Material changes to what happens to your data will be said plainly on the privacy page rather than buried here.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts there have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Questions

Write to keyshandtyping@gmail.com. For anything about your own data — a copy of it, or its removal — the account page does both without waiting for a reply.
